I had the pleasure of working with Chantel at Shutterfest, and the photos she captured are hands-down some of my absolute favorites—ever. She has that rare talent of making you feel both comfortable and like you just stepped off a magazine cover. Her eye for detail is unreal, and her direction? Effortless. If you’re looking for photos that make you say, “Wait, that’s ME?!”—she’s your girl.

What kind of camera do you use?

I shoot with a Sony because it’s what I started learning on and it just feels right. But honestly? It’s less about the brand and more about how you use it!

Do I have to own a fancy camera to follow your tips?

Not at all! Many of my tips work whether you’re using a DSLR, mirrorless, or even your iPhone. Great photography starts with understanding light, angles, and confidence.

How long did it take you to feel confident behind the camera?

Truth? I didn’t feel confident for a while. It took trial, error, and a lot of “oops” moments. That’s why I share both my wins and mistakes here — to help you grow faster than I did.

Can I really learn photography on my own?

Yes, yes, YES. You can totally learn photography solo — especially when you have the right support and guidance (which is why I made this blog for you 💕).

What’s one thing you wish you knew before you started?

That photography isn’t about doing it “right” — it’s about doing it your way. I spent so much time trying to match what everyone else was doing, and it left me feeling stuck and uninspired. The truth is, your unique style is your superpower. When you stay true to your vision, you naturally attract the right people — and that’s when the magic (and momentum) really begins.

Will you post behind-the-scenes content?

Absolutely! I love sharing the real-life chaos behind the pretty pictures. Expect lots of that, plus camera settings, posing tips, and maybe even a few outtakes.
